San Diego Photographer: Emily and JR | Married!

Emily and JR are absolutely, 100%, head-over-heels crazy for each other.  Their wedding weekend kicked off with a yummy dinner at Pizza Nova in San Diego and you could tell right then this weekend was going to be full of love.  JR and Emily’s love for each other, the love they have for their family and friends, and how much their family and friends love them.  To say this weekend was a family affair is to put it lightly.  The families all helped with the planning and execution of the weekend.  From the moment L and I met the crowd, we were treated like family.

I’m having a hard time putting this weekend into words, only because I don’t think I can do it justice.  Not doing an engagement session before a wedding sometimes makes me nervous.  How will it go?  How will we interact with them?  Will they understand our shooting style?  I had no reason at all to be worried.  We were just part of the family.  Emily’s mom wrote me a sweet note after the wedding and said it was like I was a family member with a camera.  I can’t even begin to tell you how that makes me feel.  We were so lucky and blessed to be a part of this wedding weekend.

JR and Emily’s love was infectious, everyone was having a great time all weekend.  I dare you to scroll through these and NOT smile the whole time.  They are goofy in love with each other and that kind of love rubs off on everyone.  This kind of love brought people together all weekend, from friends putting together the bouquets, to Emily doing her mom’s makeup (cutest thing I’ve ever seen), to some of the best wedding toasts I’ve ever heard.

The wedding was held in Balboa Park (something they described as “flash mob”!) and they wanted a circle of love around them during the ceremony.  There wasn’t a dry eye in the house during the vows.  You can just tell these two were made for each other.  Ok, enough of this!  On to the pictures!  Congrats Emily and JR.  I know without a doubt you will be so happy together!
