Redlands Wedding Photographer: Janie and Luke | Married
Janie and Luke met as music students at the University of Redlands so it was extremely fitting that they were married there at the Alumni House! The wedding was supposed to take place next year, April 2018 but they decided to move up the date due to Janie’s grandfather’s failing health. Unfortunately, he passed this last summer but you just knew he was there on November 18th to be with them. Small touches from Pops were seen all throughout the day: an embroidered handkerchief, an engraved bracelet, a brooch on the bride’s bouquet. There was love all around, not just from Pops but from all members of their families.
Janie and Luke decided on a first look which resulted in one of the best faces I’ve ever seen from a groom. Like Luke couldn’t believe that Janie was his, that it was their wedding day, that all the hard working leading up to it just made sense now. The events department on campus was so kind to drive us around in a golf cart so we could hit all of the places that were important to Janie and Luke: the chapel, the quad and the administration building. We zipped back just in time for a ceremony under the stars and during the reception, maid of honor Zoe sang not only the first dance song but many more with the band. What a fun surprise!
Being a wedding between two music majors, music was an important factor in the day. Friends played the piano, french horn (Luke’s instrument of choice), and sang during the ceremony. The three piece band played all throughout the reception while guests boogied on the dance floor and in a super special treat, Janie serenaded Luke for the last song of the night. They ran through a line of waving glow sticks and into the getaway car to start their lives as a new family.
Congratulations Janie and Luke! Not only were you dream clients, but I’m so happy we’re friends as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to end my 2017 season. Much love to you and many more happy years together!
