Married! Erin and Mike: Oak Glen wedding
Most photographers know how to watch something with one eye and something entirely different with the other eye. Like during the speeches, you’re listening and watching the speaker but also looking around the crowd for the reactions. You’re also trying to listen to the speech and catch the reactions from the couple. So you’re half listening, half watching and you don’t hear a whole lot of it. But Erin’s dad quoted George Eliot and I loved it so much, I pulled out my phone and wrote it down.
“A friend is one to whom one may pour out the contents of one’s heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that gentle hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.”
WOW.
If you’re around Erin and Mike for any amount of time, you know these two are the biggest fans of each other. During their toasts at Mile High Oaks in Oak Glen, they kept sneaking sweet glances at each other with knowing smiles. Their friends and families saw them through a COVID postponement and celebrated with them (with masks on!). The venue had survived 2(!!!) forest fires that came up to the property line. The Apple fire and the El Dorado fire couldn’t cancel this day! You could tell that everyone was so happy that they got the wedding day they dreamed of.
Congratulations Erin and Mike!
