Introducing: Sawyer Jackson!

So sorry for the blog silence but we’ve been a little busy over here at Coco McKown Photography. On April 18, we welcomed our first child, Sawyer Jackson McKown!  Wow… it’s only been 2 weeks but it has been awesome.  I know a lot of mothers say that and gloss over the hard parts but everything is worth it.  He’s such a sweetie, he loves to be held, hates bath time and eats and eats and eats.  Like, all the time.  But the love, you guys.  Oh the love.  It’s indescribable.  I love my husband, I love my family but this love is so different and special.  He’s a doll and we’ve been having so much fun.

Also, seeing your husband as a dad?  Pretty much the coolest thing ever.  L is in love with his little buddy.

Welcome to the world, Sawyer J!  We are SO happy you are here.

On a professional note: I am taking inquiries for any weddings, families, etc for after June.  But until then, please be patient with me as I cannot stop staring at this sweet face.

Redlands Photographer: Sarah and Jaime | Engaged!

They met in a coffee shop.  Sarah would go to study and Jaime would take breaks and come talk to her.  The breaks started getting longer and longer and badda bing badda boom, they started dating.  So when Jaime wanted to propose to Sarah, how else would he do it but on a coffee cup?  He had the barista write “Will you marry me?” on Sarah’s cup and of course she said yes!

We just had to start our session at Stell, where this time the same barista wrote their wedding date on the cup.  Jaime and Sarah are just perfect for each other.  As Goldilocks would say, “Juuuuuuust right.”  And they really are.  You can just see how Jaime adores Sarah and how Sarah just lights up around Jaime.  I don’t think they stopped smiling for one second, even when I told them to be serious.  They really couldn’t do it for long.  We ran all around Redlands and Loma Linda, visiting some of their favorite places.  But these two could have been anywhere… they were on top of the world, crazy in love with each other.

Congrats to you both, your love is so infectious!

Redlands Photographer: Gail | Headshots

Gail is a dancer.  She’s a dancer with a kind heart who also makes phenominal cakes.  I know.  It’s not fair to give so much talent to one person:) Gail wanted this shoot to be something really special.  See, the black cape was her mom’s and she wanted to center the shoot around it.  It’s one of the few precious belongings of her mother that she still has and I think we really captured the spirit of Gail.  It was so fun to tromp through the snow.  Gail said her mom was probably laughing at her but I think she was laughing with her since we were having so much fun!  Thank you Gail, for being such an amazing sport and an awesome model!

Redlands Photographer: Watts Family | Family Session

The Night Before Christmas was the theme of this fabulous family shoot.  I love that I can always count on the Watts family to be on board for any crazy idea I come up with.  When I pitched this idea, the kids already had their shoes on and hopped in the car to start looking for jammies!  Logan is also in the Nutcracker again this year (such a great Fritz!) which is why the Nutcracker made a cameo:)

So much fun, Watts family.  I have to start thinking about next year’s theme!

Redlands Photographer | Horter Family

Tonight, I was at a University of Redlands event and I ran into Greg and Lori.  Someone else mentioned that their kids were so cute that she was going to steal them.  Greg commented, “You’re going to have to get in line behind Coco!”  He’s so right, Reagan and Sarah are absolutely adorable and so charming.  Plus Greg and Lori are the kind of parents you want to be.  Laid back, fun with a crazy sense of humor.  I had so much fun with the Horter family, running around the U of R quad.  Lori and Greg are both alumni and I know we have 2 more future Bulldogs on our hands.  Thank you Horter family… I had a fabulous time!
