San Diego Photographer: Katie | Senior

Who’s ready for a gorgeous senior?  Me! Pick me!  Katieis graduating from High School this year and is off to UC Davis.  Congrats girl!  Katie is smart, funny and just about the nicest girl you could ever meet.  I may be a liiiiittle biased, seeing as she’s my cousin.  But if you met her, you would agree with me completely.

We had so much fun running around Balboa Park last week.  My aunt came along too and while I took a couple pictures of her, I don’t think she’s appreciate me posting them here:)Congrats again Katie, we’re all so proud of you!  Leave a comment and show Katie some love!

Joshua Tree Photographer: Michelle and Aron | Engaged

Can I just say how much I appreciate it when couples are up for anything?  Michelle and Aron are two crazy kids that just happen to love Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree (having grown up there, up of course).  So when it came time to pick a spot for their engagement pictures, where else would we go?  We had the best time roaming all over the park.  ”Climb up that boulder”  (Got it) “Sit on this patch of dirt” (Sure thing) “Go jump next to this super-tall Joshua tree” (No problem!)  They were such good sports all day.

Aron and Michelle have such a romantic, whirl-wind love story that I think I’m just going to save until their wedding (Coming this June!).  Thank you both for being such great sports.  You guys were really burning up J. Tree with all that lovin’:)

San Diego Photographer: Scott and Benita | Wedding

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the internet is such a crazy place!  Back when I was planning my wedding I read the site WeddingBee.  Oh, who am I kidding… I still read it!  The website has brides write about their planning process and then follow up with recaps after their wedding.  They have cute monikers so the women don’t have to use their real names.  As I was planning my wedding, Mrs. Avocado was blogging about hers.  I just loved her sense of humor, how real she was and how gorgeous her pictures were.  I started following her personal blog after she signed off from the ‘Bee.

In January, Jenna posted on Twitter that she would be shooting a wedding in San Diego and would need second shooters.  I offered my assistance with anything she needed and would hold a ladder or a light reflector if she would let me!  Luckily, she didn’t think I was crazy and agreed to have me tag along.

The Friday night before the wedding, I was too excited to sleep.  Seriously, it was like Christmas.  And I have to tell you guys, Jenna is so amazingly awesome in person.  It is so crazy to meet someone you’ve only known online.  She’s a fantastic mentor, letting me have the freedom to take the shots I wanted and make me feel really comfortable.  Dare I say it, we made a great team.

Ok ok, enough about Jenna Cole (check her out here!) let me get to this couple.  Scott and Benita are crazy about each other.  Absolutely head over heels.  I got to work with Scott as he was getting ready and he was constantly asking about Benita.  ”How is she doing?  How does she look?  She is seriously the best thing that has ever happened to me.”  Watching Benita walk up to her groom, located on the cliffs of La Jolla, you could just feel her excitement.  She was going to see the man she was to marry!  She was positively giddy.  You can tell these two crack each other up all the time.

Thank you both for being so amazing.  The weather amazingly held out until they walked in the temple (and then it started pouring!).  But they were up for anything and just so excited to get married.  And a big thank you to Jenna for taking a chance on me.  I hope to work with you again soon!

Palm Desert Photographer: Keeran Family | Family Session

College is just nuts, if you think about it.  You’re thrown together with all these kids who are the same age as you.  You’re expected to live with someone you’ve never met before.  You stay up late, you get up early, you try things you’ve never tried before (like me and cheerleading.  Sheesh.)  You also meet amazing people.  People you can say one weird word or phrase to and they just die laughing.  Erin and I met in Chapel Singers, this great choral group that became somewhat of a secret society.  Only not so secret.  We went on tour to Hawaii in 2006 and that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship for me and Erin.  A couple of years ago, she got married to a great guy and had a gorgeous little boy.  She’s been telling me for months how she wanted me to take his picture and I would always tell her, “Just let me know the date!”  She finally did and it was like no time passed at all.

Hope you enjoy meeting her family… wish you could all know them in real life!  And Erin, let me know what your family grows and we’ll have another photoshoot!;)

Canyon Country Photographer: Ayesha | Bridal Shower

What a bridal shower!  Ayesha is getting married this June and her friends and family pulled out all the stops when putting together her shower.  Ayesha is a literary nut, she absolutely loves books and has her own literary blog as well.  So in honor of her biblio-centric ways, her ladies tailored her decorations and activities towards books.  The decor was gorgeous: centerpieces, garlands, bunting and even a wreath made of out book pages.  So gorgeous.

Her girls put together really fun games (even though there was rampant cheating!) and food just kept appearing on the dining room table.  She received thoughtful gifts and you could really feel the love in the room.  Everyone is so excited for her to get married to Erik.

Congrats, girl!  Hope you had an amazing time:)
